DR. DUNCAN MURRAY RECREATION
As the main indoor recreation facility in Hinton, the Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre has two hockey areas, an indoor pool, and three indoor courts where you can do activities like basketball, racquetball, squash, and bouldering.
There are 2 indoor hockey arenas, 4 indoor courts, the pool facility includes a 6 lane, 25m indoor main pool, kiddy pool, hot tub, steam room and wheelchair lift.
The Hinton Skateboard park is located adjacent to the Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre, as is the Rotary Spray & Play, along with a variety of sports fields including 4 baseball diamonds, 2 soccer pitches, football field, 400m running track and food booth.
The Recreation Centre also houses Hinton Parent Link, Hinton Youth Centre and Hinton Municipal Library.
Dr. Duncan Murray was proud to call Hinton home and dedicated himself to supporting the young community’s civic and medical needs. Professionally, Duncan practiced Family Medicine, emergency care, industrial medicine, surgery, paediatrics, anesthesia and obstetrics. He was proud to have delivered nearly 3,000 babies during his career and “The Baby Doc” took even greater pride in remembering them all by name.
