Hinton offers a refreshing experience with pristine lakes, clear mountain streams, and potentially swimming opportunities at designated areas like Maxwell Lake or other natural water bodies surrounded by scenic mountain landscapes.

Hinton is home to many popular indoor and outdoor options for swimming. The aquatic facility at the Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre consists of a main 25m pool, shallow play pool, hot tub and steam room. The main pool has a 6 lane capacity, slide, tarzan rope, and rock climbing wall.

Some popular seasonal places to swim outdoors include Jarvis Lake and Kelley’s Bathtub in nearby William A. Switzer Park.
